Tuesday, August 31st, 2010: It’s 3:00 AM and I’m awake working on shirts that Bobbie Kremnitzer and I will be wearing on our bike ride across Michigan and back. Finally finished.. Now on to sleep.. And the alarm goes off an hour and a half later. What a way to start.. Luckily, I can put on some Bassnectar to get me going.. That’s how the trip began..
Bob and I rode across the state and back to raise money to purchase much-needed bikes for the Muskegon Rescue Mission. It really was a great experience. The first day was terribly hot, the second and third were wet and rainy and the last day we were riding straight into fairly strong winds. We camped out along the way and were able to enjoy plenty of wet gear and meals at McDonalds. We both have stories from the trip, fairly good ones at that, but I really am tired of writing and telling others about them for now. The snakes, Preston, getting caught camping in Allen’s woods, responses from people driving by and mishaps along the way won’t soon be forgotten though, so if you’re curious.. just ask. 🙂
